Last week, I joined Mike Kehoe at one of his many campaign stops around the state as he seeks to become Missouri’s next Governor. Mike was in his element talking about the future of our state and meeting farmers and ranchers in Vienna at the South Central Regional Stockyard. Like everywhere Mike goes, he saw many long-time friends and supporters. Mike is also no stranger to Missouri Farm Bureau members, having been endorsed by Missouri Farm Bureau’s PAC multiple times for election in the Missouri Senate, Lt. Governor, and now Governor.
Mike is burning up the roads to meet as many people as possible before the August 6th Primary Election. Many of you have already attended events for Mike Kehoe, Lincoln Hough, Andrew Bailey, Kurt Schaefer, and other MOFB-endorsed candidates. Even now, with just a couple weeks to go, you can make a difference.
I spoke to one of our members recently who was walking in her local parade on behalf of one of our organization’s endorsed candidates. She was surprised when several people in the community approached her after the parade, seeking advice on who to vote for in the upcoming election. Her presence and leadership through Missouri Farm Bureau were more well-known than she realized, and her presence and voice made an impact.
The August 6th Primary Election represents a critical opportunity to shape Missouri’s future, and the election will be decided by those who show up. It is increasingly likely that our state’s leaders will be decided in the August Primary, as our state has trended Republican in recent elections. If you want a say in who your likely leaders will be, it’s important to vote in this primary on August 6th.
In-person early voting is open and will continue until Election Day on August 6th. If you will be out of town on August 6th, make a plan to vote early, and talk to your friends and family about the importance of voting. It might be too late to put out a yard sign, but it’s not too late to make a difference.
