Missouri Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins issued the following statement in support of Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway’s challenge to New York’s regulatory overreach:

“We appreciate Attorney General Hanaway for standing up for Missouri agriculture and defending the constitutional principle that one state cannot dictate policy for businesses operating in another. This lawsuit is about protecting states’ rights, preserving energy independence and pushing back against burdensome regulations that unfairly target agriculture and rural industries beyond New York’s borders. Missouri Farm Bureau supports this effort to protect farmers, biofuel producers and rural communities from unnecessary red tape that threatens competitiveness and drives up costs for consumers.”
