Missouri Farm Bureau President Blake Hurst made the following statement regarding the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of a disaster funding bill:

“Today, the U.S. House of Representatives took an important first step in securing funds for farmers and ranchers impacted by recent catastrophic flooding. The passage of H.R. 2157 is an encouraging development as the legislation provides funding for losses incurred during recent flooding, including help to cover losses of on-farm stored commodities. We owe a special thanks to Congressman Sam Graves, Congressman Lacy Clay, and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver who all supported this bill. While the legislation faces an uncertain future, we look forward to continuing conversations as relief is considered in the Senate and by the President.”
