JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – – The Missouri Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (PAC) has endorsed Congressman Jason Smith for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in Missouri’s Eighth Congressional District. Trustees of the MOFB PAC Southeast Regional Endorsement Committee voted to support his candidacy.
“Congressman Jason Smith continues to be a leading voice for agriculture and rural America in Congress,” said MOFB President Garrett Hawkins. “As chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, he is helping shape tax and trade policies that have a direct impact on Missouri farm families and rural businesses. His agricultural roots and leadership on key policy issues make him an effective advocate for our state and an important ally for Missouri agriculture.”
First elected to Congress in 2013, Smith has consistently worked to advance policies that strengthen farm operations, expand market access and support rural communities. Prior to his service in Washington, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives. He has been recognized with the American Farm Bureau Federation’s “Friend of Farm Bureau” award following each of his completed terms.
A seventh-generation Missourian and fourth-generation owner of his family’s farm, Smith remains closely connected to agriculture. He received the MOFB Outstanding Service to Agriculture award in 2022 and is a past president of the Salem FFA Association.
MOFB PAC trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. More information about the MOFB PAC is available at MOFB.org/PAC.
