Missouri Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins made the following statement regarding passage of legislation increasing highway funding:

“For the first time in a quarter-century, Missouri has taken a concrete step to boost funding for roads and bridges. The legislature’s passage of SB 262 provides much-needed funding for Missouri’s roads and bridges while still allowing taxpayers to receive a refund of the additional fuel tax if they desire. The new funds raised will be divided among state, county and local roads. This is great news for rural Missouri and the important farm-to-market roads that carry farm products as well as the roads we all use every day to get our kids to school and to drive to work. We look forward to Governor Parson signing this bill into law in the coming weeks.”
