JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB) has announced that Kayden Guymon has been hired to be its new Director of Regulatory Affairs & Policy Counsel. He will begin his tenure with MOFB on January 2, 2025.
Guymon brings a wealth of knowledge and legal experience to MOFB. Prior to this role, he worked for the Law Firm of Haden & Colbert where he specialized in agricultural law, providing legal counsel to farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses. As a part of his practice, he used his agricultural experience to represent clients in a variety of issues affecting rural Missourians such as: private property rights, local government regulations, and administrative determinations.
As a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Guymon received his bachelor’s degree in animal science. During his undergraduate years, he joined the Collegiate Farm Bureau, Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, and Mizzou Block & Bridle. Interested in agricultural policy, Guymon attended Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, received a law degree and obtained a certificate in Food and Agricultural Law.
“Kayden’s experience in agriculture and knowledge of agricultural law makes him a great addition to the MOFB team,” said MOFB President Garrett Hawkins. “Kayden has already proven his leadership ability in helping Missouri farmers and ranchers when it comes to defeating burdensome regulations in rural America. His passion to serve the state’s agriculture industry will help ensure the voices of those who live and work in rural Missouri will continue to be heard from rural main street to the nation’s capital.”
Guymon grew up on a family farm in west central Illinois where his family raises row crops and cattle and manages a wean-to-finish hog operation. Throughout his childhood, Guymon was actively involved in his local 4-H club and FFA chapter. This experience fostered his passion for agriculture and his lifelong commitment to promoting the rural way of life.
Guymon and his wife, Katie, reside in Ashland. Guymon is a graduate of Class XIX of Agricultural Leadership of Tomorrow (ALOT) and is a Regional Vice President of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
