Dana Lane, St. Catharine, has been appointed to Missouri Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education (P&E) Committee.

Dana and her husband, Terrill, are the fourth generation of Lanes to own and operate their Linn County farm, raising commercial and club calves. Club calves are sold to youth livestock exhibitors.They also sell Umbarger show feed.

The Lanes have been active Linn County Farm Bureau members since 1987. Lane is currently county P&E chair.The couple has served on the state YF&R committee, participated in the YF&R discussion meet, chaperoned students for MOFB Youth Leadership Day, and attended the MOFB Legislative trip to Washington and American Farm Bureau Federation convention. They are also involved in 4-H and Extension. Dana, a retired teacher, is a past Community Teacher’s Association president.

The couple has two grown children, Tyler and Shelby, and a granddaughter, Kate, the daughter of Shelby and Nick.

Lane’s appointment to the P&E committee was made at Missouri Farm Bureau’s annual meeting December 5 at the Lake of the Ozarks.  She represents District 2 in the northeast area of the state. As a member of the 10-person committee, she will help develop, implement and evaluate projects and programs that promote agriculture.
