JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – – The Missouri Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (PAC) has endorsed Nathan Willett for election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Missouri’s Sixth Congressional District. MOFB PAC trustees from the district voted to endorse his candidacy.
“Agriculture is the backbone of Missouri’s Sixth Congressional District, and northern Missouri farmers and ranchers are proud to stand behind Nathan Willett in his campaign for Congress,” said Missouri Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins. “Nathan has shown he’s ready to roll up his sleeves and fight for rural Missouri by taking the time to listen to farmers and understand the challenges facing agriculture. We’re excited to join his campaign at the ground level and work side-by-side to ensure Missouri agriculture has a strong, respected voice in Washington, D.C.”
Willett, a seventh-generation Missourian born in Clay County but with family farming and ranching roots in Atchison County, has worked as a public-school math teacher in both Kansas City Public Schools and Park Hill and currently serves as a member of the Kansas City City Council. He has worked ferociously throughout the early stages of his campaign to speak with agriculture leaders throughout his district, which encompasses most of Missouri north of I-70. From advocating for an updated Farm Bill to expressing his concern for protecting private property rights, Willett has demonstrated that he plans to put his words to action by seeking input from his constituents on the ground – representing them all the way from the farmhouses of northern Missouri to the House of Representatives.
MOFB PAC trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. More information about the MOFB PAC is available at MOFB.org/PAC.
