Missouri Farm Bureau President Blake Hurst made the following statement in regards to the legislature’s passage of rural broadband funding:

“Rural broadband internet access is a necessity in today’s world. We are thankful to the legislators who recognized this and took action to appropriate $5 million to the Missouri Rural Broadband Development Fund. This investment will help the new Office of Broadband at the Department of Economic Development facilitate deployment of high-speed internet into unserved and underserved areas of our state. Missouri Farm Bureau has worked hard for several years to help get us to this point. We are excited to see what we can achieve moving forward.”
