“We are pleased the Cole County Circuit Court has upheld the law allowing cattle farmers to decide if they want to pool their resources to promote the beef industry and agrees the Missouri Department of Agriculture has followed state statutes in administering the registration process. If cattle farmers vote in April to approve the proposed Missouri beef checkoff, any cattle farmer who does not want their checkoff dollars used can receive a complete refund. It’s unfortunate the Missouri Rural Crisis Center seeks to prevent cattle farmers who want to invest in the state’s cattle industry from having the opportunity to do so.”
