JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Victoria Schwader, of St. Joseph, was announced as the new chair of the Missouri Farm Bureau (MFB) Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Committee at the organization’s 103rd annual meeting December 5 at Lake of the Ozarks.
Schwader and her husband, Tyler, live on her family’s farm, Schwader Farm, where Tyler grows row crops and raises beef cattle. Victoria graduated in 2013 from the University of Missouri with a degree in animal science and now works full time as a salesman for Select Sires, working with both beef and dairy farms selling semen, artificial insemination and reproductive consulting. In her spare time, Schwader works at the local animal shelter. Both Victoria and Tyler serve on the Buchanan County Farm Bureau Board.
Schwader will officially begin her duties as chair of the committee during the YF&R Leadership Conference February 9-11, when one-year term of current chair, Clarissa Cauthorn, of Thompson, expires. The MFB YF&R Committee consists of 16 individuals or couples from eight districts. The group plans and directs the Leadership Conference each February. As chair of the committee, Schwader also serves as an advisory member on the Missouri Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
