JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – – Missouri Farm Bureau’s State Political Action Committee has voted to endorse Rusty Black for election to the open seat in Missouri’s 12th State Senate District.

Black first won a seat in the Missouri House of Representatives in 2016 as the District 7 representative. He has received Missouri Farm Bureau’s “Friend of Agriculture” award multiple times, most recently in August of 2022, and currently serves as the chair of the Subcommittee on Education Appropriations as well as the vice-chair of the Pensions Committee.

“Rusty has served his constituents incredibly well during his six years as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives,” said Kyle Durham, vice-chair of the Northern Regional Endorsement Committee. “He has been a strong supporter of the issues important to rural Missourians, as evidenced by his repeat Friend of Agriculture awards by the counties he serves.”

The 12th State Senate District, which is currently held by Dan Hegeman, who is term-limited, covers 19 counties in northwest Missouri.
