JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Missouri Farm Bureau’s Northern Regional Endorsement Committee has endorsed Cindy O’Laughlin for election in Missouri’s 18th State Senate District. Trustees interviewed O’Laughlin and her general election opponent Crystal Stephens on September 10 in Macon and voted unanimously to endorse O’Laughlin’s candidacy.
“Cindy is a fiscal conservative who will be a strong advocate for rural Missouri,” said Darrell Aldrich, Chairman of the Northern Regional Endorsement Committee. “As a successful businesswoman, she knows the importance of meeting a payroll and educating our workforce.”
Randolph County trustee Ted Sander said, “Agriculture is the primary economic driver in our area and we look forward to working with Cindy. She will make sure the legislature addresses issues such as improving access to broadband and the growing shortage of large animal veterinarians.”
Trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. They interview the candidates running in the general election and seek their positions on issues prior to voting on endorsements. The 18th Senate District is comprised of 14 counties in northeast Missouri.
