Rural hospitals and clinics run on thin margins. Most of them stay afloat by offering outpatient procedures. The COVID-19 crisis forced rural hospitals to stop nearly all outpatient visits, putting them in dire financial straits.

Missouri Farm Bureau believes rural citizens deserve quality care close to home. We have teamed up with USDA and the Missouri Hospital Association to find short-term financing for rural hospitals, and we’re talking with our Members of Congress to get more help to keep them in business. We also worked with state government to make it easier for doctors to practice across state lines and for advanced nurses to offer routine care in rural areas.

Healthcare is just as essential in rural areas as anywhere else. To the the emergency responders transporting patients, the support staff keeping hospitals running, and the doctors and nurses putting their lives on the line for all of us during this pandemic, thank YOU for your service.
