For years, Missouri Farm Bureau has led the charge to improve rural access to affordable broadband internet. The impact of COVID-19 has made it clear why it is so important.
Students are expected to learn from home through videos and live conferences. Employees have been asked to set up shop at their kitchen tables. Hospitals and clinics are trying to provide telemedicine to keep doctors and nurses safe.
Missouri Farm Bureau has encouraged internet providers to upgrade speeds at no charge to customers and eliminate data caps during this crisis. We are also working with the state legislature and Members of Congress to direct more money to broadband infrastructure. Everyone deserves the same economic opportunities, no matter where they live.
To the telecom workers keeping us connected to the world, the medical professionals keeping rural Missourians healthy, and the teachers and parents helping our kids continue learning, Missouri Farm Bureau thanks you for your service.
