OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – – Senator Josh Hawley, Greg Matthews and Ed Holhubner received Missouri Farm Bureau’s (MOFB) Outstanding Service to Agriculture award during the organization’s 111th annual meeting on Monday, December 8. The presentations were made by MOFB President Garrett Hawkins during the event’s general session.

Awarded annually to select individuals who have demonstrated their desire to work closely with Farm Bureau and have supported agriculture throughout their careers, the prestigious honor was given to three individuals in 2025 who have impacted the organization’s longevity for years to come.

Senator Josh Hawley has been a strong partner for MOFB since first meeting with members more than a decade ago, earning the organization’s early support in his 2016 race for attorney general and later in his successful run for U.S. Senate. Raised in Lafayette County and recognized as a leading constitutional attorney, he brings both rural roots and legal expertise to his work in Washington, where he has championed both agriculture and rural priorities. From opposing the Grain Belt Express project and engaging directly with federal leaders to protect landowners, to collaborating on initiatives like the “Southwest Missouri Day of Service” and hosting the annual agriculture advisory luncheon at the Missouri State Fair, Senator Hawley and his family, which includes his wife, Erin, and their three children, have remained committed allies for rural Missouri.

Greg Matthews spent 32 years with MOFB as a regional coordinator, beginning in 1976 after graduating from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in agriculture business. Over his career, he worked with 36 county Farm Bureaus and helped organize the final three counties to join the organization. A Dexter native, Greg and his wife, Barb, have four children and 10 grandchildren. Since retiring in 2008, he has stayed active through full-time taxidermy and hobbies that include trout fishing, hunting and camping.

Ed Holhubner grew up on a family farm in Olmsted, Illinois, and went on to earn a business administration degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1979. He began his career with MOFB as a regional coordinator in January 1980 and served faithfully for 44 years before retiring in December 2024. Ed and his wife of 44 years, Donna, live in Sedalia and are proud parents of two sons and grandparents to five.
