Thanksgiving may be behind us, but I’m still feeling an overwhelming wave of gratitude this week. During the holidays, spending time with family and friends is my favorite part. The fresh-from-the-kitchen “fixings” are wonderful, but it’s the laughter and time together that I treasure most.

The holidays also give us a chance to reflect on the changes we’ve seen over the past 12 months. For my family, this year brought some significant transitions. With the older kids off furthering their education, we’re down to one child at home. It’s certainly made our days a bit quieter, which is why I welcomed the Thanksgiving chaos even more.

My husband, Mike, has been part of the Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB) family for more than 20 years. I’ve heard countless stories about the wonderful people he’s worked with and have attended many conferences as his plus-one. This year, I officially joined the MOFB family as well, stepping into the role of director of MOFB Health Plans. It’s only been a couple of months, but we hit the ground running!

For the past 27 years, I’ve served in multiple areas of the healthcare industry. Working in Missouri, a primarily rural state, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our residents face; limited hospital resources, staffing shortages, and too few coverage options for families. That’s why joining MOFB Health Plans is more than a career move for me; it’s personal. Those who have been left without affordable choices deserve better. And while we may not be the right fit for everyone, I know there are many families who truly need what we offer.

Our plans are designed to support individuals and families in every stage of life. We’ll offer options with a $1,500 deductible that include day-one coverage for well child visits and preventative exams, as well as HSA eligible plans and a Major Medical option. We’re confident there’s a plan for every family, at price points that will be highly competitive in today’s market.

You can find a MOFB agent in nearly every county across the state, with friendly faces ready to talk with you about these new health plan options. I’m also excited to share that our new MOFB Health Plans website is now live at mofbhealthplans.com.

Whether in a local office or online, you can access information to help determine whether these plans might be right for you, but we still encourage you to talk to your local agent for personalized guidance.

Quoting and applications will begin January 1, 2026, with coverage available as early as February 1, 2026.

It took three years of working with Missouri legislators to make MOFB Health Plans a reality, and the time is finally here. We know family farms across the state have long struggled with access to affordable coverage, and we hope these plans bring peace of mind to farm families and entrepreneurs who have had limited options.

Please visit mofbhealthplans.com or contact your local MOFB agent for more information. Our plans offer a wide range of choices to help you find the coverage that’s just right for you.
