The Foundation provides a dedicated funding source for a variety of agricultural education programs and leadership programs. \nSchedule\nSaturday\, October 9\, 2021 \n9:00 AM: Check-in\, Douglas County Sale Barn\, South 5 Highway\, Squires\, MO \n9:30 AM: Drivers’ Meeting \n10:00 AM: Start time \n12:00 PM: Lunch\, Rockbridge Rainbow Trout & Game Ranch \nFees\nAll tractor registration: $35 \nFee includes a Farm Bureau gift\, an event photo\, lunch and snacks. Fees can be paid in advance by on-line credit card\, mailing a check or paid by cash/check at the event. \nLunch\nA lunch will be provided at the Rockbridge Rainbow Trout & Game Ranch. Additional lunch tickets may also be purchased on-site. \nNon-participant pricing: $10 adult/$5 child \nPoker Run!\nAll tractor drivers will be given playing cards at various times throughout the cruise. At the final stop\, we’ll see who has accumulated the winning poker hand. Sponsors are also invited to join the tractor cruise for lunch\, compliments of the Foundation. \nPlease submit your sponsorship by September 30. \nSponsorship levels:\nGOLD SPONSOR: $500  \nSILVER SPONSOR $250  \nBRONZE SPONSOR: $100  \nTractor Cruise Rules\nThe main purpose of the Tractor Cruise is to raise money for agricultural awareness through the Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture and to have fun in the process. An accident or injury would take the fun out for everyone. \nWith this in mind and to assure that everyone is able to have a fun time\, following are the rules for the Tractor Cruise: \n1. All tractors must be in good mechanical condition to participate in the cruise (i.e.\, properly functioning brakes and parking brakes\, non-excessive fuel or water leaks\, good tires\, non-excessive exhaust\, etc.). \n2. Traffic laws must be obeyed at all times during the cruise\, including stops. \n3. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license (state law)\, and drivers under 18 years must have written parental permission. \n4. Operators must have insurance. \n5. All participants must sign a disclaimer that is part of the registration form. \n6. No “horseplay” will be allowed during the cruise\, including stops. \n7. Riders are not allowed unless they are seated in a “buddy” seat that is securely positioned next to or with the operator’s seat. Other seats must be approved by tractor cruise officials. Inappropriate or unsafe seats will be prohibited and the rider will not be allowed to ride the tractor during the cruise. \n8. No ATVs will be allowed unless they are used by a cruise worker/volunteer. \n9. All tractors must be able to go at least 10 mph. \n10. No alcohol will be allowed at any time. \n11. Drivers must follow the designated route\, stay with their designated group\, are not allowed to pass and should drive on the shoulder whenever possible. \n12. No implements\, trailers or dual wheels are allowed. \n13. All tractors must have a slow moving vehicle sign securely mounted on the rear. \n14. No refunds. \nAll safety rules will be enforced by the officials of the 2021 Tractor Cruise. Any violations to the above stated rules or any other items or actions deemed to be unsafe or inappropriate for the cruise participants\, volunteers\, the general public or communities will result in the tractor and/ or cruise participant being asked to leave the cruise route. \nTractor Cruise Terms & Conditions\nIn consideration of your acceptance of this entry\, I hereby\, for myself\, my heirs\, my executors\, administrators\, waive all rights and claims for damage I may have against individuals associated with this event\, its agencies\, representatives\, successors and assigns\, for any and all injuries suffered by me in the Foundation for Agriculture Tractor Cruise. An accident or injury would take the fun out for everyone. \nWith this in mind and to assure that everyone is able to have a fun time\, following are the rules for the Tractor Cruise: \n1. All tractors must be in good mechanical condition to participate in the cruise (i.e.\, properly functioning brakes and parking brakes\, non-excessive fuel or water leaks\, good tires\, non-excessive exhaust\, etc.). \n2. Traffic laws must be obeyed at all times during the cruise\, including stops. \n3. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license (state law)\, and drivers under 18 years must have written parental permission. \n4. Operators must have insurance. \n5. All participants must sign a disclaimer that is part of the registration form. \n6. No “horseplay” will be allowed during the cruise\, including stops. \n7. Riders are not allowed unless they are seated in a “buddy” seat that is securely positioned next to or with the operator’s seat. Other seats must be approved by tractor cruise officials. Inappropriate or unsafe seats will be prohibited and the rider will not be allowed to ride the tractor during the cruise. \n8. No ATVs will be allowed unless they are used by a cruise worker/volunteer. \n9. All tractors must be able to go at least 10 mph. \n10. No alcohol will be allowed at any time. \n11. Drivers must follow the designated route\, stay with their designated group\, are not allowed to pass and should drive on the shoulder whenever possible. \n12. No implements\, trailers or dual wheels are allowed. \n13. All tractors must have a slow moving vehicle sign securely mounted on the rear. \n14. No refunds. \nAll safety rules will be enforced by the officials of the 2021 Tractor Cruise. DESCRIPTION:**IMPORTANT UPDATE** \nStatement from MOFB President Blake Hurst on November 20 – – \n“After much consideration\, our organization’s leaders have decided to conduct Missouri Farm Bureau’s 2020 Annual Meeting virtually. We will still conduct Board and Officer elections on the previously scheduled date of Sunday\, December 6. While we are still working out the technical details\, we plan to enable voting delegates to cast votes via telephone. We also plan to conduct a virtual General Session on Saturday\, December 5. \n“This decision was extremely difficult. Face-to-face meetings are important to farmers\, especially as they select leaders. However\, the current status of the pandemic simply does not allow a large-scale meeting to be conducted safely. We look forward to gathering in 2021 to celebrate an annual meeting that is bigger and better than ever.” \nPlease see below for additional FAQs: \nWill we have to re-register voting delegates?\nCounty Farm Bureaus will need to finalize their list of voting delegates by 4:00 p.m. on November 25.  The final list must be selected from the list of delegates and alternates already provided to the home office. \nWhat information will you need for each voting delegate?\nWe will need an email address for each household and a telephone number for each voting delegate.  Voting will take place on telephones so each voting delegate must have a unique telephone number. This information must be forwarded to Shannon Dravenstott at Shannon.Dravenstott@mofb.org by 4:00 p.m. on November 25.  On Monday a list of information that was provided at registration will be sent to each county office for verification. \nWill there be a role for alternates?\nNo.  Once counties finalize their list of voting delegates there will be no role for alternates. \nDo we have to cancel room reservations at Margaritaville?\nNo.  All rooms will be canceled by Margaritaville.  There is no need to contact Margaritaville directly. \nWill there be refunds for meals?\nYes.  There will be refunds provided for any meals already paid for. \nWill the General Session be open to all members?\nYes.  The General Session will take place via Zoom and members can use their smartphones\, IPads\, or computers to listen. \nHow will votes be taken and tallied?\nOn December 6\, voting delegates will be called by the tele-town hall (TTH) service prior to the start of their respective district election and once again for the election for president.  For security purposes only registered voting delegates will be called and able to vote in each election. \nVoting delegates will listen as the parliamentarian outlines the voting process and conducts each election.  When the parliamentarian calls for the vote\, each voting delegate will be asked to press the button on their cell phone or landline that corresponds with a specific candidate.  Voting will be anonymous with results being reported quickly.  Oversight of the process will be conducted by the parliamentarian\, MOFB’s Chief Financial Officer and Director of Administrative Services\, and a representative selected by each of the three candidates for president. \nA practice call involving all voting delegates will take place prior to December 6.  As soon as the list of delegates is finalized all voting delegates will be provided with the date and time they will be called by the TTH service for the practice run. \nWhat is the tentative voting schedule?\nSunday\, December 6 \nElections \n12:00                District 1 Board Seat \n12:30                District 2 Board Seat \n1:00                  District 3 Board Seat \n1:30                  District 4 Board Seat \n2:00                  South District At-Large \n3:00                  President & Other Elections if Needed \nWill there be a resolutions process this year?\n \nThe state board will meet immediately following the conclusion of the virtual Annual Meeting to consider policy proposals put forth for consideration by the 2020 State Resolutions Committee (SRC). The board will consider the tentative proposals approved by SRC at their October meeting (this document is available to members by visiting the Member Portal). Policies approved by the state board will be forwarded to American Farm Bureau (AFBF) for consideration in their annual resolutions process. Time will be of the essence as we must submit recommendations to AFBF shortly following our virtual meeting; therefore\, only policies that are time sensitive to the AFBF process or require immediate action for the upcoming General Assembly will be considered at that time. \nAll other changes that are not time sensitive will be considered in early January. A working group of state of board members will be appointed to consider other proposed changes from the State Resolutions Committee. The working group will work through each proposal in the tentative policy print and vote to advance the proposal or table it. The full board will ratify the recommended changes at their January 2021 meeting. Changes ratified by the board will be printed in the 2021 Policy Book. Any tabled items will be presented to the 2021 State Resolutions Committee for further consideration. \nWill there be a County Presidents’ Meeting?\nNot at this time.  We anticipate providing county presidents with staff updates in coming weeks.  Written handouts will be mailed or delivered to county presidents. \nWill there be a 2020 MOFB Annual Report?\nYes.  The annual report will be available at county Farm Bureau offices and electronically at the MOFB Annual Meeting portal. \nWill Margaritaville offer the same room rates to MOFB members during the month of December?\nYes\, Margaritaville has offered MOFB members a special room rate of $71 plus fees and taxes for a standard room guestroom\, $145 plus fees and taxes for a one bedroom suite\, and $230 plus fees and taxes for a two-room suites.  These special rates are good during the month of December.

Lee grew up on a diversified crop and livestock farm in central Wisconsin. He has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls\, a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University\, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University. His integrated extension\, research\, and teaching program provides leadership in the study of\, and educational programming for\, critical problems facing the livestock and meat industry\, including marketing and risk management\, agricultural and trade policies\, animal health and biosecurity\, and production\, management\, and regulatory issues. Lee regularly collaborates with Farm Management Extension\, the Iowa Beef Center and Iowa Pork Industry Center\, the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development\, and industry stakeholders. He publishes regularly in professional journals\, extension publications\, and the popular press and has spoken at numerous professional and agricultural conferences. Lee has been recognized by the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association and Iowa State University for early achievement in extension and outreach programming.\nScott Bennett\, Director\, Congressional Relations\, American Farm Bureau Federation\nScott Bennett serves as the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Director of Congressional Relations. His issue portfolio is comprised of livestock and related issues including GIPSA\, cell-based proteins\, gene-editing and Mandatory Price Reporting. Scott also manages AFBF’s efforts on hemp\, child nutrition/dietary guidelines and agricultural research. Scott has been with the American Farm Bureau Federation since October of 2018.Prior experience includes serving as Legislative Director for former House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte\, where Scott guided the Chairman through policy decisions as a conferee for the 2018 Farm Bill. FAPRI is well known for is agricultural policy and market analysis being called on by Congress and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for its insight into commodity production\, price and trade impacts from various agricultural policies including trade and market disruptions. Dr. Meyer was also most recently the head of the World Agricultural Outlook Board (WAOB)\, the agency at USDA charged bringing together USDA resources in the assessment of crops around the world. The WAOB also publishes those finding in the ‘WASDE’ report which is closely watched by agricultural markets here and abroad. All Missouri Farm Bureau members are welcome to attend. \n2019 Agenda \nFeaturing\nKeynote Speaker: Jayson Lusk\nMonday\, December 9th\, 9:00 AM\nJayson Lusk heads the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University and is known for his studies about what we eat and why we eat it. His book The Food Police: A Well-Fed Manifesto about the Politics of Your Plate\, is a critical account of food and agriculture economics. \nAfter years of studying food regulations and comparing costs and benefits of the policies in question\, Lusk grew disenchanted with a movement that he feels ignores the realities facing most American consumers and farmers. Lusk argues that the “food elite” in America have made food more expensive — putting lower-income consumers at a disadvantage and preventing us from taking full advantage of emerging technologies in the food industry. \nIn his book\, Unnaturally Delicious: How Science and Technology are Serving Up Super Foods to Save the World (2016)\, Lusk explains how technology and agriculture can work together to help solve the world’s largest food issues and improve our farming system. Since 2000\, he’s published more than 190 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals on topics ranging from the economics of animal welfare to consumer preferences for genetically modified food. \n\nEntertainment: Porter Union\nMonday\, December 9th\nPorter Union\, led by the husband and wife team of Cole Michael and Kendra Porter\, is the result of two old souls spending much of the last decade traveling the country together to play their music everywhere from dive bars and honky tonks to festivals and theaters. When you hear the story of Cole and Kendra meeting in a hometown bar\, falling in love while writing and playing together\, it sounds like fairy tale built by corporate music row.
