Missouri educators have the opportunity to attend the Missouri Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) Conference on June 23, 2022 at the Missouri Farm Bureau home office in Jefferson City. The event is FREE for Missouri Farm Bureau members and costs $30 for non-Missouri Farm Bureau members prior to May 31, and $40 for non-Missouri Farm Bureau members through June 23.
The one-day event will feature current and former educators along with agricultural leaders leading breakout and group sessions. Presentations will consist of cross-curricular lessons, engagement ideas and learning resources for elementary teachers. Teachers will walk away from this conference with materials in hand to incorporate into their classrooms.
The mission of AITC is to “increase agricultural literacy through K-12 education.” AITC programs seek to improve student achievement by applying authentic, agricultural-based content as the context to teach core curriculum concepts in science, social studies, language arts and nutrition. By encouraging teachers to embed agriculture into their classroom, AITC cultivates an understanding and appreciation of the food and fiber system that we all rely on every day. AITC is unique within the agricultural education community as the lead organization to serve the full spectrum of K-12 formal education.
A tentative agenda will be posted soon.
