JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – – Missouri Farm Bureau’s Political Action Committee has endorsed Eric Burlison for election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Missouri’s 7th Congressional District. Trustees of the Missouri Farm Bureau Southwest Regional Endorsement Committee voted to endorse his candidacy.
“Missouri’s seventh Congressional district will have big shoes to fill with Congressman Long stepping aside; however, there is no doubt that Eric Burlison is the right person to take over that role,” said Lane Baxter, chairman of the Southwest Regional Endorsement Committee. “His time spent in the Missouri legislature has prepared him well to represent the citizens of southwest Missouri in the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Burlison was endorsed by Missouri Farm Bureau when he was elected to the Missouri Senate in 2018, where he currently serves both Christian and Greene counties in District 20. Before his election to the Senate, he represented House District 133 from 2009-2016.
Trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. They interview candidates, review voting records and seek their positions on issues prior to voting on endorsements.
