JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Missouri Farm Bureau’s East Central Regional Endorsement Committee has endorsed Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer for re-election in Missouri’s Third Congressional District. Trustees interviewed Luetkemeyer at the White Mule Winery near Owensville August 21 and voted unanimously to endorse his re-election bid.

Luetkemeyer is serving his fifth term in Congress and is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and Vice Chair of the House Small Business Committee. He also serves as the Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, where he oversees important issues related to consumer credit and lending institutions. Luetkemeyer has also been a strong supporter of Farm Bureau’s policies, showing particular leadership on issues regarding management of the Missouri River.

James Koepke, chairman of the East Central Regional Endorsement Committee, said Luetkemeyer is a Farm Bureau member who understands the organization’s priorities. He has received the Friend of Farm Bureau award each of his four completed terms.

“Congressman Luetkemeyer takes time to listen to the needs and concerns of the people of Missouri and has been a champion for agricultural and rural issues,” Koepke said. “He is a friend to Missouri farmers and has earned Farm Bureau’s support through his daily actions on our members’ behalf.”

Political Action Committee trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. Trustees interview candidates running in the general election, review voting records and written questionnaires and seek their positions on issues.
