JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Missouri Farm Bureau’s East Central Regional Endorsement Committee has endorsed Mike Bernskoetter in Missouri’s Sixth State Senate District. Trustees interviewed Bernskoetter at the White Mule Winery near Owensville August 21 and voted unanimously to endorse his candidacy.

Bernskoetter is a successful businessman, growing a one-man pest control business into a successful family-run enterprise, now employing six people including his son, Kyle. In 2010 he sought election as State Representative for Cole and Miller Counties. He served effectively in that role for eight years and has won the Friend of Farm Bureau Award multiple times.

“Mike Bernskoetter understands what is important to mid-Missouri farmers and listens to their needs,” said James Koepke, chairman of the East Central Regional Endorsement Committee, from Gasconade County. Dwayne Schad, a trustee from Morgan County, said, “Mike has developed a proven track record during his service in the House of Representatives and shares the values of Farm Bureau members. He will be a great advocate for rural Missouri in the Senate.”

Trustees are selected by their county Farm Bureau organizations. They interview the candidates running in the general election, review voting records and seek their positions on issues prior to voting on endorsements. The Sixth Senate District is comprised of the counties of Morgan, Moniteau, Miller, Cole, Osage, Maries and Gasconade.
